Hello and welcome to what we hope will become an annual event, our very own short zombie story comepition.

This exciting and innovative new writing competition offers fiction writers the chance to have their work...well, out there, as well as to receive some fabulous prizes (more on those later).

We are looking for engaging and entertaining short zombie stories, the more original and entertaining the better. Any genre crossover is welcome just so long as zombies are in there somewhere.

For a good chance of winning please don't bore us with what has come before, non stop violent zombie killing action has been done to death. We want something original, mind bending, genre defying or quite simply astounding or just downright fun... anything goes so don't hold out!!

The competition starts.... now!! And shall end at Midnight on December 31st this year, after that date we shall place ten of the best submissions into a public poll on these forums where every entrant and member of this forum can cast one vote to decide who the overall winner will be.

The public vote/poll will be open for two weeks and after that the winner and runners up will each recieve their prizes via the post - lets just hope the postmen aren't too busy striking eh.

All short zombie story submissions should be posted into http://www.zombie-nation.net/forums/...splay.php?f=84 simply create a new thread and put your stories name as the title, simple!

ANY story posted in that section will be entered into the competition unless it breaches the rules.....

THE RULES

All stories should be no less than 500 words long and no longer than 10,000!

All submissions must feature zombies in some way

Submissions are only accepted from registered members to these forums, if you aren't a member sign up now, this is because the public poll will only be open to registered members which means each member gets only one vote and thus there can be no cheating.

All writers must accept that other members of these forums can & will comment about their story within that stories thread

*NOTE: The competition is open to anyone from anywhere in the world!*

OOOOOH baby. I have already published a book before (not zombie related) and short stories where my thing at school, i didnt even need to give the class whore 50p to touch her gash.

On a side note i would like to see judges here count every word in the short stories to make sure they don't exceed 10,000 words. Secondly can we write it in word and upload it in doc format

It's simple copy and paste into the zombie story section but apart from that anything goes.

The word count is easy to check so no worries there though I will say some leeway at the top end is to be expected although only a small percentage, at the bottom end though theres no excuse for just falling short of 500.

We'll be adding a new prize tommorow, in the meantime please spread the link to this thread around if you can.

Thanks for all the Private messages and stuff so far. The prizes started arriving today.

I may throw in a signed copy of the 28 days Aftermath graphic novel BUT I may just keep it, it is mine after all so I'll need some convincing!
